Are Chinese herbs safe?

Manufactured Chinese herbal products imported into or sold in Australia are registered by the Australian Therapeutic Good Administration. The herbs I use are from reputable companies who select the right qualities of herbs that have gone through extensive testing to ensure correct ingredients and the absence of pesticides and other contaminants.
